A Pinewood Derby.
For Grownups.

It starts with a block of wood, four wheels and four axles, and ends Wednesday, May 18th in a 64-car, gravity- and alcohol-fueled single-elimination race. Prizes for the three fastest cars and the most creative car.

The seventh annual race will be run Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Spirit of 77.

Start Your Skil-Saws.

The Stumptown 40 is a lot like the traditional Boy Scout Pinewood Derby, but instead of boys creating cars from blocks of wood, grit and pocketknives, it's Portland's creative types, with power tools. And instead of a church gymnasium, the Stumptown 40 will be held at Spirit of 77 (where a full bar is available). Car kits are $30, all of which goes to Schoolhouse Supplies.
